ABOUT KARINA
Karina Henry is an author, educator, traveler, and entrepreneur. Her favorite quote, “Every man dies, not every man really lives” has been her constant reminder to live her best life each day - taking nothing for granted. It is this quote and her desire to see the world that pushed her to purchase a one-way ticket to Suzhou, China, where she lived and thrived as an English teacher for two years.

In January 2020, she returned to the US for a month-long vacation before returning back to her “home” in China. Due to the pandemic, China closed its borders so she began rebuilding her life in The States. In July 2020, she opened Karina’s Virtual Learning Academy, a virtual classroom and after-school platform for English as a Second Language (ESL) learners. The virtual program currently has 25 students from 5 different countries.

Karina also runs Karina Worldwide LLC., which provides assistance to individuals of color who are interested in living and teaching in Asia. Through KW LLC., several individuals have embarked on their journey abroad.

In addition to Karina’s passion for helping others, she enjoys traveling. “The Amazing Adventures of Kaylen the Kid Traveler" is a children’s travel book series inspired by her real-life experiences as a teacher living in China and traveling throughout Asia, Africa, North America, and Europe.
​
Throughout her travels, she noticed the lack of diversity in books that were geared towards travel for young readers. Immediately, she began to breathe life into the main character, Kaylen, to expose young readers to the world through the eyes of someone who looks like them.
Karina currently lives in Playa del Carmen, Mexico where she also works as a content creator and educator.
